My name is Amanda Booth and I have been teaching at ENMU-R for 5 years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Science; I am also a Certified Medical Assistant and Certified Phlebotomist.
I work as an instructor in the Health and Science Division at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell where I teach Clinical Medical Assisting I & II and the lab, Introduction to Phlebotomy and the lab, Phlebotomy Clinical, and a variety of other second year courses for medical assisting. I graduated from the Medical Assisting Program in 2009. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings that include: gastroenterology, urology, family practice, endocrinology, oncology, and cardiology. I returned to ENMU-R and completed the Phlebotomy Program in 2013. My phlebotomy experience was acquired while working in the family and oncology practice. I am a Roswell native; I am married, but have no children other than 3 adorable Boston Terriers.
I enjoy having the opportunity to teach my students the knowledge, and skills they will need in order to become successful health care workers themselves. When I see my students working in a doctor’s office or clinical laboratory I feel such a sense of pride and joy, not just because they were my students, but because they are now fulfilling their dreams/goals in life.
